Alnmouth & Lesbury Cricket Club is on the Alnmouth Road, near Hipsburn First School. There are coaching sessions for juniors (from 7 years old) on Fridays at 6pm and for seniors (15 years upwards) on Tuesdays at 6pm, depending on the weather.

The 1st team play in the Northumberland League and the 2nd team in the Alnwick and District League.

Alnmouth Homing Society meet at the hut in the Pond Field, Hipsburn on Friday nights from April until September.

The club races pigeons and would like some new members. A Presentation Night is held in November each year. Members also raise money for charities and recently one member has raised over £2,000 for St. John’s Hospice by selling young pigeons.


Alnwick Embroiderers’ Guild meet in St Michael’s Parish Hall on the first Saturday of the month, except in January and August, from 2pm-4pm.

Lesbury Art Group meets in the Village Hall on Monday mornings from 9.30am to 12.30pm, October to Easter.  Leisure painting with some tuition from time to time from professional artists.

Lesbury Autumn Club meets in Lesbury Village Hall on the third Wednesday of the month (Feb-April 2pm, May 10am, Sep-Oct 2pm).   The club enables the over 55s to meet, enjoy a speaker and afternoon tea. Meetings are usually held in the Village Hall on the 3rd Wednesday of the month between September and May; in December we hold a Christmas Lunch and in January a lunch in a local hotel or restaurant.

Lesbury Bowling Club meet at Lesbury Bowling Club, which is behind the Village Hall, every day from 2pm until dark. Mixed Jumbles played on Mondays at 6pm and on Thursdays at 2pm. In the winter, dominoes are played in the clubhouse on Tuesdays at 2pm.

Club plays lawn bowls and training is available for new members. Competitions and friendly matches are held with local bowls clubs. Annual events include President Day, Ladies Open Triples, Mixed Open Rinks and Mixed Open Triples. Full membership £52 per year, social members £5 per year


Lesbury Bridge Group meets in Lesbury Village Hall on Mondays at 6.30pm.

Lesbury Carpet Bowls meets in the Village Hall on Thursday evenings 6.30pm-9.30pm from September to April. Numbers are limited due to facilities.

The club grow show onions to show at the Onion Show, which is usually held on the last Saturday in September.

Hipsburn Preschool offers preschool fun and education for children aged 2 years +, Mon-Fri 9am to 3pm. We are part of  'Early Years' at Hipsburn Primary School and can offer up to 30 hours funded preschool education as well as paid sessions for those that are not yet in receipt of government funding. Lesbury Women’s Institute meets in Lesbury Village Hall at 7pm on the second Tuesday of the month (not August).

Darts and dominoes are enjoyed during the year with visits to other institutes together with and annual fund raising event. All women are most welcome

Northumbria in Bloom Group - since 2012, the parish has entered the Northumbria in Bloom annual competition, run by the RHS.  A team of over 20 volunteers works to keep the villages of Hipsburn and Lesbury looking bright and colourful, and organises events such as Plants Sales, Gardeners' Quesiton Times and Litter Picks.  If you would like to join the group, or help in any way, contact John Malloy at lesburyinbloom@gmail.com 

St Mary’s Church, Lesbury is open every day for anyone to visit. Services are held on Sundays and Thursday mornings. The church is available for baptisms, weddings and funerals. Coffee is served every Saturday morning in the church.

The church holds annual fund raising events such as a Quiz Night, Lent Lunches, a Garden Fete in July, a Harvest Lunch, a Christmas Coffee Morning and Volcano Night in August where teams build sandcastle on the beach with a fire on the top. Last fire to go out wins.
